📚 Selling Your Books to Next Chapter

We love giving pre-loved books a new home.
To keep our shelves curated, cozy, and enjoyable for everyone, we follow the guidelines below when accepting used books.

💰 Buying Used Books

We offer:

• Up to 30% of our resale price in cash
• Up to 40% in store credit

Store credit never expires and can be used on used books, new releases, or special orders.

Final offers are based on:

• Condition
• Publication date
• Customer demand
• Current inventory levels
• Market pricing

Not all books brought in will be purchased. Selection is based on what our customers are currently looking for.

All purchasing decisions are made at staff discretion.

📚 What We Accept

We accept gently used books that are:

• Clean and in good condition
• Free of mold, mildew, smoke, or strong odors
• Complete (no missing or loose pages)
• Free of excessive writing, highlighting, or damage

📅 Publication Date Guidelines

To ensure our shelves remain current and in demand, we primarily accept books published 2015 or newer.

We may occasionally make exceptions for high-demand, collectible, or timeless titles, but most older publications will not be selected.

We are especially interested in:

• Popular fiction & BookTok favourites
• Romance & romantasy
• Fantasy, mystery & thrillers
• Children’s & young adult
• Complete series
• Evergreen or consistently requested titles

Inventory needs change seasonally.

🚫 What We Don’t Accept

To maintain quality for our customers, we are unable to accept:

• Moldy, damp, or strongly scented books
• Heavily damaged, torn, or water-stained books
• Textbooks, encyclopedias, or outdated reference materials
• Magazines or mass-produced free publications
• Ex-library copies
• Mass market (pocket-sized) romance
• Items we already have in excess stock
• Most books published prior to 2015

If we cannot confidently resell a book, we cannot purchase it.

🕒 Buying Hours

Wednesday–Friday | 11 AM–3 PM

Buying is not available on weekends.

Buying may pause during peak store traffic or once daily intake capacity has been reached.

📦 Drop-Off & Review Process

• Bring up to 2–3 boxes at a time during buying hours.
• We assess books while you wait. Processing time varies based on volume.
• Because we are a small shop, books cannot be left for later review unless arranged in advance.

We gratefully accept donations.

Donated books may be:

• Sold in store
• Used for community initiatives
• Given to local programs
• Recycled responsibly if unsuitable for sale

Please note: donated items are not guaranteed to be sold.
